Hone Hone Summit 2024 @ Shizuoka
◼️What is “Hone Hone Summit”?
"Hone" means "bone" in Japanese. Hone Hone Summit is a major event where groups and individuals making skeletal specimen at museums, universities etc., across the country come together to share each of their techniques and send out the appeal of skeletal specimen. It has so far been held in Osaka, Kochi and Hokkaido. This year's summit will be held in Shizuoka Prefecture for the first time. Shizuoka is blessed with mild climate and diverse natural environment, including Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay and the Izu Peninsula, and is home to a variety of living creatures. We hope that “Hone” lovers will gather in such a place and convey the charms of skeletons, animals and nature.

Kento Mori. Director of “Rojo Hakubutsukan (the Museum of the street)”.
“We mainly work with photogrammetric scans of mammalian skeletons, 3D printing them and exhibiting them outside museums, which we call “the Museum of the street”. In this lecture, I would like to talk about why we are doing that.
I would also be happy if you could touch the 3D printed bone replicas.”
